Van Jollie, a citizen of the USA, is a Pastor of the United Methodist Church in Germany, is married and has two daughters.

After High School in Crystal Lake, Illinois Pastor Jollie received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Illinois and Master of Divinity at United theological Seminary in Dayton Ohio, USA.

From 1979 until 1988 he served in two charges of the North Dakota Conference of the United Methodist Church first in Rolla/Dunseith then in Casselton/Leonard. He was ordained an Elder in 1981.

From 1988 until 1994 he was a missionary sent by the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church; three and a half years in Sierra Leone in a water well development Project and three and a half years as an English teacher/pastor in Poland.

In 1995 he transferred his membership from the Dakotas Conference to the East Germany Conference where he served two appointments; first in the congregations of Zwickau and then in Reinsdorf/Mülsen.

In 2006 he became a member of the North Germany where he is still pastor in the Rhineland charge. Together with Pastor Ruthild Steinert he serves the congregations in Bonn, Düsseldorf and Cologne.
