Pastor Rev. Abena Gyebi Obeng

“Making disciples of Jesus Christ of all nations for the transformation of the world”

Born in Ghana and educated in a Methodist girls' boarding school, I share the mission statements of Methodists the world over.

As a migrant living in an international setting in Germany, I see myself as a bridge-builder, fostering cultural understanding and acceptance despite differences in worship forms, and striving to see the image of Christ in every human being, no matter their origins or looks.

I am convinced that a fulfilled Christian life can only be reached through a close walk with Jesus. He tells us in John 14:4 that no branch can bear fruit by itself, it must remain in the vine.

To this end, the focus of my pastoral work is spirituality.  In my sermons, I try to explore the question of how we can develop a living faith that can bear witness to the joys and also the challenges of a life lived daily in and with Christ.
