Although our current congregation is small in number, we are lucky enough to hear relevant, entertaining, and motivating sermons from our Pastor, Abena Obeng, and our experienced lay speaker Rhonda L. Bowen. The services follow the traditional liturgy of the Methodist Church and include songs from the United Methodist Hymn Book, bible readings, and prayers. The uplifting messages we receive every Sunday carry us well through our week.

Our gatherings have an intimate feel, which is nonetheless unthreatening to new members or visitors. As an international congregation, we are accustomed to new-comers and welcome everyone, whether they are long-term residents or visiting the Düsseldorf area for a few weeks, months, or only for the day!

At UMC, we understand that everyone is at a different stage in their Christian experience, therefore there are no prerequisites to join in any of our services, be it a short or long-term fellowship with us. You are welcome to become as involved as much or as little as you wish.

Once a month we get together at the bakery next door for an hour of coffee and a chat after the service. Other special events may be scheduled when the occasion arises.

Compared to some other churches, proceedings are informal and relaxed. Come along, hear God’s word, worship with other believers and seekers, receive a smile and a prayer when you need it, and take the warmth of a Christian fellowship home with you.

Whatever your background, there is no judgement in our beliefs and attitudes.
